Private experience
Our journey starts 170 km east of Yucatán to explore the archaeological zone of Ek Balam. Upon entering Ek Balam, an interesting, completely restored Mayan arch welcomes you. We will cross this majestic structure and walk among the ancient buildings, admiring the grandeur of their construction until we reach the acropolis, the best-preserved structure of Ek Balam standing at 32 meters high. Inside, the tomb of the great Mayan King "Ukit Kan lel Tok" was discovered.
Ek Balam was strategically built between two cenotes, contributing to its significant development and growth. Therefore, we also include a visit to one of these cenotes in our tour. You may choose to travel the 1.5 km long sacbé on foot or by bicycle. For a unique experience, consider arriving in a Yucatecan Tuk Tuk, also known as a tricitaxi.
We arrive at X'Canché, a beautiful open cenote, where you can descend wooden stairs, cool off under the waterfall, swim, and relax in its green waters. For the adventurous, options to rappel down to the cenote, use a zip line, or swing in with a Tarzan rope are available.
By booking this tour, you are supporting the local community, as the proceeds from cenote access help sustain local communities and promote sustainable tourism. We will then make a gastronomic stop at the Xbatún Mayan village to savor traditional dishes from the region.
Our final stop is the Magic Town of Valladolid, known as “The Pearl of the East.” Founded in 1543, it is the second oldest city in Yucatán, offering rich history and cultural experiences.
