Shared experience
Our tour starts at the historical center of Manaus. You'll see the facades of the buildings showcasing the neo-classical style that characterizes Manaus from the rubber boom era. As we progress through an area known as "the old Manaus," you'll gain a deeper understanding of the rich history our region experienced.
We'll visit the Amazonas Opera House, exploring how numerous materials and artists were brought from Europe to create this iconic structure, a lasting symbol of that extraordinary time. Next, we will head to the market complex, which includes the banana market, fish market, and municipal market—each with its own unique charm.
As we continue, we'll view the Rio Negro Palace, which was initially intended as a residence for a rubber baron but ultimately became a government office.
Next, we will drive to the port, where we will board a speedboat to witness the remarkable phenomenon of the two rivers flowing side by side without mixing their waters. You will receive an in-depth explanation of this natural occurrence.
Following that, we will visit a floating village where all buildings—including homes, schools, churches, bars, and restaurants—are constructed on logs, allowing them to float on the water.
We will disembark at a floating fish farm to encounter the world's largest freshwater fish, the Pirarucu (arapaima gigas). After this close encounter, we will return to the boat for a scenic ride upstream to Lake Janauary, famous for its waterlilies. You will enjoy a walk on a suspended walkway, high above the canopy of the trees, providing a unique perspective of this beautiful ecosystem.
